Guy Fawkes
Back in the olden days a man named Guy Fawkes tried to blow
up the houses of parliament by filling its basement with gun
powder. This in itself is a misconception as Guy Fawkes was
only hired by catholic plotters to do the blowing up itself.
But the truth is the catholics who created the plan were themselves
victims of a conspiracy.
The Theory
At the time there was a strong division between Catholics
and Protestants. The Protestants were the most powerful and
wanted the Caltholic's out of the way. So they constructed
a plot to frame the Catholic's.
The Evidence
- By the time Guy Fawkes signed the confession, his hand
writing was barly recognisable - clear signs he had been
badly torched
- The basement space which the Catholics used was rented
out to them by the landlord - a Protestant
- The only way to get government at the time was to get
it from the Protestant gun powder - surely they would notice
if that amount of gun powder had been ordered
- Mysterious the gun powder records for that year were missing
- The plot was uncovered when an annoymous letter was given
to Lord Monteagle - who read it out to all the guests at
his feast
